| As you certainly know, unfortunately file sharing of copyrighted material   |
| is illegal in some countries. Surely you already had contact with the       |
| campaigns of the media industry. They often refer to you and other          |
| filesharers like us as "thieves" and threaten us with imprisonment.         |
| Do you think that's justified?                                              |
|                                                                             |
| We strongly reject this criminalization of file sharing and its users and   |
| stand up to end the equalization of filesharing with robbery or theft. It   |
| is not only possible to spread but also to preserve culture effectively     |
| for a long time by using file sharing networks. Therefore file sharing      |
| networks should be supported!                                               |                                                                                                   |                                                                             |
| To achieve this goal we want to change the copyright laws to decriminalise  |
| the private use of filesharing networks to download copyrighted material to |
| attain a great cultural variety.                                            |
|                                                                             |
| How a free handling of culture without dramatic restrictions already works  |
| today can be seen on jamendo.com, a great music portal with more than 5000  |
| albums available for download for free.                                     |
|                                                                             |
| By now pirate parties were founded in many countries worldwide, surely      |
| also in your home country!                                                  |
