Questions should be held closer at heart than their answers. For if we don't, we can only be pleased with a single, often limiting, answer.
The key question regarding economics is: how can man spend his time on labours that are meaningful to him? Every form of economic utopianism is based on an answer to this question.
The 20th century has been marred by countless wars and tales of untold exploitation of man and planet alike, in the pursuit of an answer to the previous question. The 21st century will not lead to a 22nd if we proceed on that foot.
The balance of power in our present world is divided on the basis of economics. For if it is not, by what else is our time – the power each person holds over life itself – divided?
This balance is shifting to the power of information. We can see this in wars, where at present we already reached a stage where the propaganda decides the winner with a historical low in loss of life and materials.
It is paramount for free men to guarantee the free flow of information. If not all information can be consumed without fear, free men will not have the power to compete in this arena. More over, even a slight interference can cause a blind spot, which can be abused by would-be tyrants and their ilk.
A man under the protection of a guardian is not free. If we allow our government or corporations to select appropriate information for us, they might be free. But we will be dependent.
Considerations regarding information should take precedence over considerations regarding economics. For the economic question and it's many answers are information too. Their power is derived from the information they reason upon.
