In the May 2011, Scottish parliamentary election, Pirate Party UK ran candidates in two regions.

The election was a form of AMS. In each region there are a number of constituencies, each elected by FPTP. Each voter has a second vote for the whole region, and top-up seats are allocated to the party lists using d'Hondt, taking into account the number of constituency seats each party has already won. In practice, this system means a party needs about 5% of the vote to win a seat.

Glasgow region

There are 10 consituencies and 7 additional members.

PPUK got 581 votes out of a total of 205,599 valid votes (0.28%)

PPUK's candidates were Finlay Archibald, Mark Wood, Asmaa Hounat, and Stuart Murray.

West Scotland region

There are 9 consituencies and 7 additional members.

PPUK got 850 votes out of a total of 282,361 valid votes (0.30%)

PPUK's candidates were Rob Harris, Laura Riach, Andrew Paliwoda, and Miah Gregory.
