Gender and Family Policy
The Piratenpartei stands for modern gender and family politics. It is based upon the principle of free self-determination on matters of the personal life. The Pirates advocate a policy that does justice to the diversity of lifestyles. Every human being must be able to freely decide upon the life plan and their individually preferred form of emancipated cohabitation. The cohabitaion and coexistence of people must not be based on exploiting others.
Free self-determination of the sexual identity
The Piratenpartei stands for a politics that respects and promotes free self-determination of the identity resp. orientation of sex and gender. We reject heteronormative allocations towards sex or gender roles. Discrimination because of sex, gender role, sexual identity or orientation is wrong. Structures of society that result from gender role models do not do justice to the individual and are to be overcome. The Pirantenpartei rejects the registration of the feature "sex" by state authorities. Transitionally, the registration by the state can be substituted by an allocation made by the individual him/herself.
Free self-determination of cohabitation
The Pirates advocate a pluralism of cohabitation and coexistence. Politics has to do justice to the diversity of lifestyles and make possible the truly free decision on the individually preferred form of cohabitation. We reject a merely historically grown structural and financial privileging of chosen models.
Free self-determination and family promotion
The Piratenpartei advocates an equivalent recognition of life models in which people are taking responsibility for each other. Independently from the chosen model life partnerships in which children grow up or weakly persons are being cared for benefit from a special protection. Our family politics defines such life partnerships as equivalent and equal in the eyes of the law.
