Youth Hostel
You need to be member of the "deutsches Jugendherbergswerk", Hostelling International, or a similar Youth Hostel organisation in your country. Becoming member in Germany costs 12.50 € (if you're at max. 26 years old) or 21.00 € (being 27+) possible for Germans and permanent residents.
An international guest who does not hold a membership card of a national Youth Hostel Association can purchase an International Guest Card in place of membership. He is required to buy a Welcome Stamp for each night of his stay at the cost of 3.10 €.
