4 - REPORTS

4.1 - Short reports of the board members 1)

Board

  • Gregory Engels: We have an election happening in Germany, and I have been busy with it. Will travel to 38C3 next week.
  • Keith Goldstein: I attended the IGF with Alex. I was not able to speak though due to a technical issue, but Alex did a great job of leading the conversation. I have a proposal for an art study exhibition that I will present today. I tried to attend the SCENE meeting, but no one except Numero6 attended so we didn't really discuss anything. It was in our calendar, so we should be careful to make sure that meetings are announced and attended. I went to Prague and met with Mike Gill. I forgot to take the PPI flags that he has in his house.
  • Bailey Lamon:
not present
  • Alexander Isavnin:
prepared and participating in IGF2024, stating on the right to receive information and need to obey digital rights.
  • Sebastian Krone:
I have been monitoring the PPI technique as I do every day.
All patches are up to date. All systems are running smoothly. We have been flooded with spam.
The new (old) Discourse is running smoothly on the PPI server.
The PPI association has been registered. It has a VAT number, a bank account has been commissioned, PayPal is already working. The headquarters are operational.
We now have to adapt or amend the HQ statutes.

5.1 - Proposals

  • An Israeli Pirate Guy Briller, who also spoke at TT4, is hosting a Peace exhibition that is happening right now in Berlin. It is currently hosted at the Culture Church. We put the survey on our PPI limesurvey, and we are wondering if PPI would like to be a partner in this project. We are waiting to get PPI's approval before starting. We are still editing the survey. You are welcome to share your opinions about questions we should ask and so on. The following is a link to the survey.
https://lime.ppi.rocks/index.php?r=survey/index&sid=591923
We should discuss whether PPI is following all data protection rules by hosting this survey. We have reviewed all of the regulations as best possible, and we do not utilize a university yet as the regulations would most likely require a lengthy ethics board approval.
Sebastian can serve as the DPO.
The vote is not in favor of the questions, but in general that we will host the project. We are hosting the project. Guy Briller is the originator of the project.
Motion
PPI Support for the StopWars Study
PPI will support this project.

  • PPEU vs. Greek Pirate Party

Keith - I have been there at the PPEU meeting, and the text of the motion is biased and there have been no contact with PPIL. We will have a conversation inside of PPIL about a possible more inclusive statement for the PPI GA. And I hope that PPGR will be reaching out to PPIL for discussion about it.
  • GA will be on January 11th 2025 starting 12:00 UTC
https://pp-international.net/2024/11/ppi-winter-general-assembly-on-jan-11-2025/
Bastian: We need to communicate the location where the meeting will take place. Suggestion is to try Jitsi first and have BBB as a standby for failover, in case Jitsi is not usable.
  • Pirate Beer 28.12.2024 11:00 UTC ????
we should confirm the location and whether it is really intended to take place then, but if so we should promote it.
> Keith will try to be there. And Alexander.
We believe that it will take place at this link, but this should be confirmed. https://meet.jit.si/ThePiratesAreEgalitarian
  • Carlos: can we start the formalities for the next year.
