2) Newsletter project status (quick report by Josef) + answering of questions

articles slowly progressing as the website-launch is progressing

access to web-space, need to do design now. Logos being worked on as well.

3) Follow-up on last meeting: http://ppintnews.piratepad.eu/teammeeting-19-07-12 branding is important Social Media Twitter can be run by anyone fb on a special queue http://ppintnews.piratepad.eu/facebook we miss Gefion dearly for the other updates.

4) Open tasks in Trello

   4a) Articles (progress? improvements?)
Have a few but need more before our launch

4b)tasklist: 'Proposed Topics' in Trello should be 'disabled' for the time being, We don't need new ideas, we need ideas in progress atm.
-Set expiry date on suggested topics, archive them in a pad. Responsibility of person sending out suggested topics each week to mailing-list. Gefion atm.

5) Articles for website launch (how? several at once?)

Question: Announcement of new article on news channels as twitter, facebook. Publish the anounced article a day later or simultaneously with the announcement?
suggestion: 1 intro post stickied with hints at future articles and 1 high quality article posted. Enough to get attention and get someone to read it. -unanimously agreed on-

Launch of website in two weeks. Logo + design needs to be done and more articles written.

6) Branding - Logo (evaluation of proposals) We don't have another week (josef disagrees, launch in two weeks, time for logo to be decided next week. Majority says this week though)

Logo format needs to be Scalable Vector Graphics, SVG. Each proposal in a separate file, but collected in one e-mail as attachments. We need the logos in a vector version as we want to scale it seamlessly without any loss or compromise in quality. See here why: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6b/Bitmap_VS_SVG.svg/800px-Bitmap_VS_SVG.svg.png.

We want it in SVG, so we are able to process on the logo in a portable and open format. Please also convert the text into pathes, as the font you used will not be embedded into the graphic file.

   Proposals:
   A1-A5: http://stat.collentine.com/logo_suggestions.png
   B: http://wiki.pp-international.net/File:Logo_PirateTimes_001.svg

Josef: I like Domi's logo but have a hard time for the stylizing of the pirate P. Don't think you should break up an established symbol.
Not everybody agrees, but all within reason of course.

Basically we have one finalized suggestion to choose from this week (Josef's almost done but stressed last minute fixes on these suggestions. Thus we post-pone to next week.)

option: propose at the start of the site this question about a logo

-against: need for (temporary) logo by tech-team now.

Decision: Logo will be decided next week no matter what options we have to chose from then. A call for logo design with dead-line next week sent out. Mail suggestions to Domi so he can upload on wiki.

We decided also for a competitive choice in a "Call for Logos", made up by Gregory here:

https://ppi.piratenpad.de/piratetimeslogo

7) Website / design-team: Tech Guy: Dominic Design; Cullen, Dominic Helping: Josef We still need more volunteers in the near future. Would be especially good to have more than one guy on tech /josef

8) Styleguide/Editorial policy -> http://ppintnews.piratepad.eu/8 Urge for concistency within the article as mertric vs imperial and british vs US English for example. Proofreaders can help in these matters :) -proposal about a databank of usefull links, nice idea, low priority. Collect them here for now: http://ppintnews.piratepad.eu/imagesources

9) Other questions/topics for meeting

   Daniel away for next week.

10) Next meeting: Next session scheduled for August 2th 19:00 GMT.
