4.1 - Short reports of the board members
Board
- Keith Goldstein:
- As usual I put up a few new blogs. I helped write the Iran-Israel War statement: https://pp-international.net/2025/06/israeliranwar/. I think we should make it more clear that the opinions that we express as an international movement represent the work of the board of PPI, and we understand and encourage our members to take on different opinions. We will continue to publish a variety of opinions about global conflicts and contraversial issues that may contradict one another. PPI is a forum for debate, and we should encourage more members to use PPI to voice their opinions. I went to the IGF. The workshop went well. I sent the report. Carlos said he would register, and I encouraged him to try to bring others. It starts in one week, July 7.
- Gregory Engels:
- Not much to report. I had been in contact with activists from PP-Russia, who offer some collaboration on a VPN product that they have launched. They look for cooperation partners, and they are offering Pirate parties an opportunity to cooperate in this project that is meant to bypass censorship and information blocking in Russia and other Regions that have severe censorship. Now they have added p2p capabilities- I can pass on the contact information for anyone who is interested in that.

- I have been monitoring the PPI technique as I do every day.
- All the patches are up to date.
- All systems are running smoothly.
- And I have done a lot of treasure's work.
- I attended the IGF 2025 5 days.

- We have been going around. The UN is quite busy these days, because of the Human Rights committees that are meeting and refugee issues. I will try to go around and take pictures. I put in the FB group the information that we got through the UN NGO office, which is open until August some artistic projects that might be good if someone is interested. There is the Commission on Disarmament that is starting soon. If anyone has questions, now is the time. We want to get information to the people who are interested in this topic.
- Davoodi, can you send this information to Alex Kohler.
- Normally all of the members need to get the letter from the Liaison Officer. I take an issue, such as disarmament.

We would like to have our working group for international and security issues. We would like to have more information for this. We will try to send you statements to have cooperation in these matters, as we have to do this in the German board and would like to collaborate with the EU and International boards. We were also preoccupied with the Israel-Iran war.

- Worked on a new blog posts about the "HackThePromise" in Basel (to be published after the meeting)
- I would like to discuss my speech there last year. I think also the influence of NGOs on Pirate party policies. When I was analyzing I discovered a number of problematic issues. It is interesting because there is a lack of literature and scientific analysis about what has happened with parties. I am trying to create a basic report that gives an overview of what is going on, and what we can fix. I figured out it was a mess when I used ChatGPT, and if I can figure this out then enemies will use this leverage against us. We need to be more transparent on these things and fix issues that have been there for many years. I

- The main thing was my remote participation in the IGF. Also I forwarded a few PPI statements to Russian Pirate Party and we voted and approved them, and we published them on our website.

- We have no information about the whole movement, just some board members, and no official record. If there are others that believe in our Pirate movement, then we are always open to assist them and welcome them as members.

- Carlos says that in Geneva there are some accomodations and location to host.
- Bastian says it would be nice and prefers Vienna, as Geneva is deadly expensive and we may need to be in Vienna to reconnect to Austrian pirates.
- You need to fix a day, speakers, and the dates. They get you the room, and after that you make your details. You go through the Indico system, so people can subscribe automatically. Those who are not accredited can get an accredited.
5.2 - Working Groups Update

- UN Working Group:
- Special Meeting of SCUBA working goup on IGF, AI, and autonomous weapons
- We have to report on the event. We are in a special situation now. We are always talking about the issues on the internet. If AI works as mentioned at the IGF, you will not have control anymore but the AI will control everything. Together with autonomous weapons, it is a real thing. I think we have a new position in the Pirate movement to explain what is going on now. I think we should talk between us, with PPEU maybe, and then we can fix the results and make a plan.
- We have in the German Pirate party with Alex Kohler where we address these issues. The working group on foreign affairs is working often on this issue. I think it would be great if you are in touch with Alex about these issues.
- We usually have meetings on Tuesdays.
- We will discuss it on a side channel.
- SCENE
- IGF 2025 (short report)
- Bastian shares his experience, 7 people connected there, we had booth (at PPEU booth), discussed a lot of moving forward Pirates movements. There were 500 ecents in, with 5000 events it was difficult to choose. It was very well organized, online captioning was cool to deal with different accents. But Bastian afraid, that UN events in generel do not resolve issues in the modern world, as governments no longer could be trusted. That's why Think Twice is really important. It was cool and nice there, Oslo is all concrete, so it might be fun.
- Alex shared his online experience and reported how he and IG students analyze huge proceedings and transcripts of the IGF usian LLMs
5.3 Economic Update

- Keith and Sebastian had a meeting to recover PPI's cryptocurrency in Potsdam.
- Story:
- To register a Kraken account for PPI an organization is not possible because we have no registration documents. So, I opened a Kraken account with PPI foundation, which is registered in Germany already. It’s a mess to present all necessary documents, including the transparency register. But we are in the finals, I guess.

- They need more time to verify our passports …

5.5 PPI HQ update
- The head office is operational. We are currently working on getting recognized as a non-profit association (hard work with the tax office).
- Tomorrow we will hold a general assembly to change statutes and approve memberships.
- Some items have already arrived and will soon be available for purchase in the store.

- We need someone who can do the following: 1) collect contact information on relevant press, this could be done by networking or simply an internet search, and 2) send press releases that are formatted perhaps word for word from our website blog.

- It is all over the media in Budapest, where they tried to banish the CSD (more than 200,000 people attended the event) - the fine for attending is up to 500 EUR for each attendee. And the gathering was recorded for facial recognition. There is a pad for creating a PM / Statement:
