4 - REPORTS

4.1 - Short reports of the board members

Board

  • Keith Goldstein:
I had a number of conversations about the IGF. I met Bastian to try to sort out our crowdfunding accounts. We made some progress but still have work to do. I continue to put up blogs on our website and boost it on certain social media channels (FB, Twitter, Discord). I am not an avid social media user, so please make sure to boost the messages further from your other accounts and on other channels.
  • Gregory Engels:
not present
  • Alexander Isavnin: Preparing for IGF, reinstating supporting legal entity NGO for PPRU
  • Sebastian Krone:
I have been monitoring the PPI technique as I do every day.
All the patches are up to date.
All systems are running smoothly.
And I have done a lot of treasure's work.
We still have some problems with spam control and blacklisting by PP-DE.
I tried to register with the IGF, but it was difficult with the photo.
  • Bailey Lamon:
With regards to IGF, I didn´t know that there were meetings happening. I would like updates. I am registered online and hope to jump into hybrid meeting.
  • Maycow Toledo:

  • Mark Anthony:

  • Carlos Polo:
not present
  • Thomas Gaul:
still in Rehab6

Alternates:

  • Babak Tubis

5.1 - Proposals

5.2 - Working Groups Update

  • AI: there was no meetings. It will be a bit related to IGF meetings. I am experimenting with my students on language models to summarize for people who are new to IGF. I think the outcomes
We will initiate a meeting.
  • UN Working Group:
  • IGF updates
Bailey: need more info on meetings happening around IGF. I'm registerd online, hope to participate online
Bastian: have issues with registering, hope to complete soon (Need to be done until 8th of June)
Alex: i really need accomodation (in a corner in the room or so)
Keith: we need to prepare our event - we have 45 minutes and 15 potential speakers, that's tough, we have to prepare. Also, let's hope to hijack some abandoned sessions
  • Questions that are the framework for the IGF workshop
Could you tell me something about yourself and your project that relates with ethical networking?
How can we ensure that mathematics and computer networking practices align with ethical

principles, including privacy, transparency, and accountability?

How can emerging technologies, such as automated language models (i.e. artificial intelligence),

and the Internet of Things, be ethically developed and deployed to ensure they have positive social, cultural, political, academic, and environmental impacts?

What role can the IGF and its stakeholders play in promoting sustainable and responsible internet

governance?

What practical tools can be used to evaluate computer networking practices (e.g. surveys,

interviews, and tests)? How can we evaluate the human component of networks? What can we do to learn more about how we learn new networks?

  • Booth Organization
What do we need to bring?
What do we need?
Asking PPEU about whether we can ask to assist in the pre zero day booth set up.
  • PPI Crowdfund for the IGF
https://fundrazr.com/b2Yiz8?
We will distribute it through PSC and other networks.
We will also write a blog about this.
  • Pre-IGF Meeting
Next Tuesday, 10 June 2025, 14:00 UTC, here in Jitsi
Added to PPI calendar
  • SCENE
Nothing planned.

5.3 Economic Update

  • Treasurer Report:
Finance:
Bank Account 3,394.76 CHF / 14.80 EUR
PayPal 256.57 EUR
Keith and Sebastian had a meeting to recover PPI's cryptocurrency in Potsdam.
To register a Kraken account for PPI an organization is not possible because we have no registration documents. So, I opened a Kraken account with PPI e.V., which is registered in Germany already. It’s a mess to present all necessary documents, including the transparency register. But we are in the finals, I guess.
There will be the possibility to collect donations in cryptocurrency.

5.4 ECOSOC/UN

Keith: We made pass for Alexander Kohler for Geneva

5.5 PPI HQ update

The head office is operational. We are currently working on getting recognized as a non-profit association (hard work with the tax office).
We will hold a general assembly to change statutes and approve memberships.
Business registration is on the way to the public order office.
Some items have already arrived and will soon be available for purchase in the store.

6 AOB - Any other business

Keith: (in his report) we need to boost our posts on social networks, as they appear. We still need to colelct content from all around the world.
PPGR has adopted resolutions related to the Uppsala declaration and more. Yet to be shared with other parties.
Let´s wait on what they will present and then we will see.
Keith will send out a mail to the member parties, so they can plan for an online IGF (GA?) meeting in August and a physical GA search for locations in the winter.
