4 - REPORTS

4.1 - Short reports of the board members 1)

Board

  • Florie Marie: I was attending to the PPDE GA at Magdeburg and made a speech here. Anja Hirschel was elected as head of their list for the next european elections in 2024. All the european Pirates movement are preparing these elections, I don't know yet how we can help them but it's a huge campain that they are going to run and some of members of the Pirates parties will be elected in OOCZ and, I guess, in PPDE.
  • Gregory Engels: (He cannot attend today and contacted us on Wire to explain.)
  • Bailey Lamon: The good news is I sent out the 2022 invoices to our members. Big thank you to Keith for putting the actual documents together and just helping me get familiar with all of this (I had no clue what I was doing lmao). I've been kind of panicking about it all but it feels good to get that done. There are a few issues to make you all aware of, if you aren't already:
-We have no contact info on file for PP Hungary, so I could not send them an invoice
-PP New Zealand has not been active for years from what I've seen (please correct me on this if I'm wrong) so I did not send an invoice
-I'm also a bit confused about PP Slovenia and also we don't have an email on file for them, so if they need an invoice they don't have one yet...I'm pretty sure they're an observer member though
-No email on file for PP Venezuela
-Tan Siret from the new PP Turkey informed me that it doesn't exist anymore
-PPI and PP Norway agreed years ago that because of some debt that PPI owed to them for I think the 2014 Think Twice Conference, it was proposed by PPNO that PPI pay off its debt by striking PPNO's membership fees for a few years...that said, I'm not sure how long that was supposed to go on for. But I did not send an invoice for that reason.
-Florian from PPFR just informed me that PPFR is in tier 2 when we had them listed as nascent so we'll just have to correct that =) he also told me that the minutes for the 2018 GA where the tier system was voted on are missing from the wiki
  • Michal Gill: ???
  • Keith L. Goldstein: I worked on the invoices and membership lists with Bailey. I have been trying to follow up with the IGF, which should have announced workshop acceptance by now. There are no updates unfortunately still on their website and we did not receive any emails.
  • Alexander Isavnin: regular news streams, also joined municipal election campaign as independent candidate.
  • Julian Häffner: Nothing to report
  • Mauricio Vargas: ???
  • Maycow Toledo: ???

Alternates:

  • Adam Wolf: ???
  • Sebastian Krone:
I have been monitoring the PPI tech, as I do every day.
All patches are up to date. All systems are running smoothly.
I have asked several times to see the contract for data processing by a processor (Art. 28.3 GDPR) regarding our discourse hosted by Stefan Thöni that we use. When will this be done?
  • Mia Utz: ???
  • Raman Ojha: ???
  • Carlos Polo: ???

5.1 - Proposals

  • Reviewing our list of Ordinary, Observer, and Other Contacts.
Keith went through the spreadsheet. He would like to confirm our lists and to update our contacts.

5.2 - Working Groups Update

5.3 Economic Update

  • Invoices
Bailey sent them to all parties we had contact information for.

5.4 ECOSOC/UN

5.5 PPI HQ update

6 AOB - Any other business

  • IGF.
They met, but we don't have an update on the workshops approved yet it seems.
until 20th July there is possibility to apply to have a booth, but it will require of presence of smbdy on the spot. I don't feel we have enough attendance in person at this IGF.
It is good to have a harbor with tables and chairs. It would be good if we could have people on site. If you already have a booth as we did in the past, such booths are approved.

Ask Mike and Gregory about previous booth application

  • Bastian wants to talk
2 questions:
1) Our next GA is in 10 days. I want to know if everything is prepared. We don't have a working group. Perhaps it is discussed elsewhere. It is too late to do anything that is not prepared now.
2) At what point will we start talking about important things again besides writing invoices?
  • Proposed agenda for the GA, needs to be revised:

https://ga.pp-international.net/t/proposed-agenda-july-2023/437

  • Last minute prior to the GA working group meeting.
When should we have it?
