4 - REPORTS

4.1 - Short reports of the board members 1)

Board

  • Gregory Engels: European election campaign is ongoing. Got contavted with Jelena, who used to manage PPI FB page, we'll try to regain full contol and link to our account. Jelena is friendly and cooperative, she would like to get back to PPI's social media management.
  • Keith Goldstein: I have been visiting the Berlin Pirate office on a weekly basis, and I would like to start broadcasting meetings from there. A big thanks to the managers of that office for letting me have an international Pirate office there. I attended the social media and AI working groups. I wrote a blog summarizing those events and a few other posts, but I need more content. I helped Alex with the IGF application. I started again with the UNFCCC application, but we need to show work we have done on climate issues if we can be accepted. We might have to ask our members for contributions.
  • Bailey Lamon: not present
  • Alexander Isavnin:Participated in SCENE working groups, prepated some IGF sessions proposals. Meeting with newly creating (opposition) Political Party in Russia (kinda offline pirate beer). Weekly news stream.
  • Sebastian Krone:
I have monitored the PPI technology as I do every day.
All patches are up-to-date. All systems are running smoothly.
I have asked several times to see the contract for data processing by a processor (Art. 28.3 GDPR) regarding our Discourse hosted by Stefan Thöni, which we use. When will this happen?
So far no access to bank accounts, just in general :-(
participated in SCENE working group
  • Mlemt:
  • Maycow Toledo:
  • Julian Häfner:
  • Mia: Met Keith in our Berlin office. We talked about Social Media. I need a bit of time to enter into things.

Alternates:

  • Raman Ojha:
  • Carlos Polo:
  • Thomas Gaul

5.1 - Proposals

5.2 - Working Groups Update

  • SCENE Meeting
There were actually 3 meetings on a weekly basis. Bailey chaired the meetings. Alex gave the example of how PP Russia is creating weekly news. It is not just Russian, but it relates to global news.
We discussed some steps and everyone who participated remembers how Gregory talked about collecting free news.
There is a provisional agreement to have the meeting on Thursday 18:00 UTC
Continious minutes: https://etherpad.pp-international.net/p/Social_Media_Guidelines
  • AI Meeting
The next meeting is Wednesday May 15 at 21:00 CEST.
We have been discussing a number of different topics.
One of the projects has been to scrape Pirate websites and create model that is based on Pirate content.
There are a number of different projects, some of which are very lofty. It is difficult to accomplish a lot, because some people are coming one time and not the next.

5.3 Economic Update

  • Treasurer Report: Bastian can log in to Postfinance now, but can't access the accounts yet. It needed a second persons authorization to give him access. Today account: 3'182.82 CHF and 83.52 EUR
Bastian still has some issues with the account. Bailey had a technical problem with the card reader being broken. We are waiting for that to be fixed.
Bastian reported about issues about paying for PPI Postbox, resolved succesfully.

5.4 ECOSOC/UN

Alexander: together with Free University submitted some sesions for IGF. Still can submit booth (until 30 Jun)

5.5 PPI HQ update

Statutes for the HQ relocation are being worked upon.

6 AOB - Any other business

Pirate Security Conference 2024.2 onilne 10.05.2024 10:00.

A German organization with a nickname from NATO. They have a conference in Dresden, which they will do online together. You can attend the meeting. The Pirate Security Conference is about 18:00 CEST. You can see this in a link about the program (below). There will be a lot of very nice speakers. Märt Põder from Estonia will talk about the Estonian election system. The Estonian people can vote for public elections with their ID card. It is a nice program.
